Having your home inspected prior to purchasing is a wise choice. It gives you the opportunity to make an informed decision before making your investment. Home sellers also use home inspectors to understand the condition of their home before placing it on the market. Gaining knowledge about your home makes the selling process easier as you can repair any defects prior to listing or have the confidence to move forward in negotiations knowing what those defects are.
Home Inspections are a visual Examination of the building which is done to the Standard of Practice of the Canadian Associates of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI) and the Ontario Associates of Home Inspectors. You should expect the inspection to take 2-3 hours. We will explain what is a standard maintenance item and what (if anything) would be a cause for concern. Our inspection reports are detailed with photos and will provide further understanding of the results of your home inspection. We have the experience to give you insight into the condition of your home and its systems to identify any major deficiencies that need to be addressed prior to buying or selling. Feel free to contact us before and after your inspection with questions or for further understanding of your concerns.
Thermal imaging is completed when possible. It can help to reveal potential moisture, insulation or wiring problems by detecting the thermal signature of each material and their temperature differences. These images assist us in determining if further investigation is needed.
It is highly recommended that you attend the home inspection and ask questions so that you understand the inspection and your home.
